I doubt that there is a known issue with the lugs. If there were that would be(SHOULD BE) a MAJOR safety recall. I know a mechanic who used to work for Firestone just a year ago. Hi Justin,

That's what the funny thing is. I think they took the flange from the junker engine and used it. I think they used the 15T exhaust. The turbo is all bolted in right now. Is there going to be a problem...ie pressure problem?

Many thanks!

Re: '96 850 turbo wagon hazard lights double trouble

Alarm relay perhaps? Someone told me the 850's don't do anything with the turn signals when locked. I don't know, but the S70 does. In this case, remove the big relay on the 2nd row from the bottom under the dash. Hitting it with something still may make it work again if this cause the lights to go...

Highly doubt I have a faulty hazard switch. I took it out today and the lights stayed on just the same. I think this is alarm related.

The sarcasm isn't needed, I was just saying if that were to happen, the transmission wouldn't blow up. A dead engine that can be restarted is better than $2500 worth of damage to the transmission. Absolutely. All seals should be changed, along with any hoses you can get your hands on. Any mounts that look busted up. CV joints/axles are more of a "your call" at this point; they're not TOO hard to change later. I'd agree with the sump O-rings. Easier to do while you've got the engine out - I k...

Hi Cattledog,

You are right about it not sealing the windshield. I think the noise is coming from wind blowing between the mold and the windshield. I wanted to glue it back together but I'm not sure what to use or if that's the best way forward.

1996 Volvo 850 T5 - Severe Oil Leaks

Good Evening everyone, So I used to have the worst leaking you could ever imagine... At first I would run out of oil in 5000 miles or so...it got so bad that 1000 miles was a longshot...the source bad oil cap gasket(just replaced the whole cap). I believe this may have solved alot of my oil leak pro...

Give Erie Vo-vo a call. They stock used/re-built engines for reasonable prices. Other than that, check out Craigslist and Ebay in your area for cars being parted out. It's a nice car but... I'd shop around for prices on another before I just replace the engine. You car is in nice enough condition t...

Once a week I hit a very long light. If I catch it wrong it can be 3 minutes. At what point does it make sense to save wear on the auto transmission in my 850 to shift into Neutral or Park? Eh it depends. because to long of an idle can be bad for your car. and 1 - 3 minutes doesnt seem good... I feel bad for you, if I was stuck at a light or what ever for that long I would be mad. Here is something I found earlier. excessive idling can corrode exhaust systems and foul spark plugs, whi...

That's kind of low for pressure...on my 850 I keep around 35-37 psi...I know tires wear out more quickly when they are less inflated.

Actually I have to go against FCP....Their reps are HORRIBLE..IE Mike,Andrew,Scott, and the owner Nick. I recently had the displeasure of chatting with them and they were VERY-VERY RUDE!
