the rack an pinion is leaking on the pass. side at the end on the rack, is it as straight forward as every other car or are there some things that will help me from frustration? im sure i will have to lower the engine a little from the sub frame mounts, if there is no diy ill try and make one if i remember to take pics when while doing this.

If it is not leaking yet, try this first: suck out all of the fluid in the reservoir with a turkey baster. Replace with new (this system takes Dex-III TRANSMISSION fluid - don't use power steering fluid!!!), and run the steering lock to lock a few times. Siphon out, and repeat til all the fluid in the reservoir is a bright, clear red.

I agree, this worked with a rack that had been leaking for almost 2 years: drained and replaced with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF, then it was leak-free for about 3 years. Then the leak came back, I ran it for another 6 months that way until I had the engine out. At that time I replaced the rack with a rebuilt one.
